Tamatebako Onsen

Spectacular open-air bath with a view of Mt.

This is a spectacular open-air bath located in Ibusuki, a hot spring resort that has repeatedly won first place in the “Best One-Day Onsen & Spa” category on a popular review site. Located right by the sea, the baths are close to Takeyama, which is known for its strange rock formations.

This one-day hot spring bath offers a view of Mt. Kaimon and has both Japanese and Western-style open-air baths, with the men and women switching daily.

From the Japanese-style open-air baths, you can enjoy the view of the sea and Mt. The sunset casts a shadow on Mt. Kaimon, and you can enjoy the Japanese-style scenery while soaking in the hot spring baths. You will also feel the sea breeze comfortably.

On the other hand, from the Western-style open-air bath, you can enjoy the beauty of nature with Mt. On a clear day, you can even see Yakushima, Takeshima, and Iwo Jima in the distance.

Tamatebako Onsen is an annex of Healthy Land, a leisure facility. The facility also has a heated swimming pool and a children’s pool, as well as a multi-purpose plaza and a children’s plaza with a sense of freedom, where visitors can play in a picnic-like atmosphere.

For meals, you can enjoy the restaurant “Geothermal Village,” where you can enjoy their signature dish of bonito tataki (bonito tataki) and local cuisine.
